Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
CBT focuses on how thoughts, emotions, sensations, and actions are interconnected and by increasing your awareness of these connections, you will gain power in having understanding and insight on how to alter reactions to situations that were previously bothersome.
Solution-focused approaches mean exactly as this sounds; during sessions, we will focus on moving forward with positive solutions given your current situation and circumstances. I do not believe it would be beneficial to dig up your past and reexperience negative emotions – what good will that do you in coming up with a solution? Instead, we will view your situation for what it is and make changes to your outlook of the present moment in order to alter your present and future outcomes.
Mindfulness-based interventions include grounding, mindful breathing exercises, and guided imagery. By paying attention to your five senses and what is going on around you in the present moment, you will gain a sense of clarity and purpose within the present without the distraction of thoughts of past or future possibilities. After all, the only time you truly have control over is the here and now, why get distracted by what has been or what could be? We will stay in the moment and take advantage of NOW!
RRT is a powerful modality which focuses on connecting both conscious and subconscious parts of the mind in order to clear areas of “stuckness” such as anxiety, grief, trauma/PTSD, guilt/shame, and anger. With RRT, we will shift the way your mind automatically processes information in a way that in fun and effortless.
